ELKO EP joins forces with Turkey’s number one in the field of smart homes

ELKO EP has long been among the largest and most important European innovators and manufacturers in the field of relay products and smart electronic solutions for homes, hotels and offices. It has 12 branches on four continents and exports make up more than 70% of its turnover. This time, however, it decided to take a unique step in its history – and instead of a new branch, it founded a joint venture with top Turkish smarthome and building system developers Astrum Technology in the Czech Republic: Inspinia Technology, s.r.o.

“Astrum is a company with a twelve-year tradition that has accelerated a lot in recent years. Thanks to the ability to connect high-quality development brains with truly superior design, it has developed into the number one position among touch panel and home automation manufacturers in Turkey and supplies today to more than 50 world markets. In many ways, it is similar to us, because it is also genuine developers who try to develop and manufacture the entire product under their own roof. Inspinia (which is actually the name of the product) is primarily intended to connect our technological know-how and theirs, but we will help each other with experience or contacts,” says Jiří Konečný, owner and founder of ELKO EP.

Czech footprint of a new connection

The stories of both companies have more in common than just the field of business and than it might seem at first glance. Both decided to throw themselves into the world of ‘Smart Home automation’ in 2012. ELKO EP was already an established relay manufacturer at the time, and was just launching a new brand of intelligent wiring, iNELS. At the same time, Astrum started in a new field, but also started to deal with the world of smart solutions for homes, offices or hotels. Both companies rely exclusively on their own development teams and pay for significant innovators in their field. Thanks to this, they are more successful abroad than on the domestic scene.

And finally – the traces of both key figures – are connected to the Czech Republic. This is not surprising for Jiří Konečný. Twelve years younger Koray Duran, who became the CEO of the newly established company, decided to move to Brno in September. This is also why there was also a property connection between two established companies.

“It’s time for us to take a significant stride towards becoming a global leading company, and I firmly believe that Czechia is the ideal location for this endeavor. By capitalizing on the advantages of manufacturing products within the European Union and leveraging the stable business environment, coupled with support and network provided by Elko EP, we can propel our company to new heights.,” lamented Koray Duran, founder of Astrum Technology.

Our collaboration on the development of the Inspinia Technology brand will be really intense in the coming months – and only an hour’s distance between Brno and Holešov will help us a lot in this. Our aim is not to create a new sales ‘brand’, but to use the background of production in the Czech Republic and the possibilities of the “Made in EU” brand and to be successful both in Western markets and on a global scale,” says Koray Duran, who heads Inspinia Technology.
